Advert Analysis- Nike(personal choice)

This Nike advert paints Ronaldo a shade of silver which likens him to some sort of statue or a famous memorial. I think that the use of this colour silver is illustrating to the market that he is a legend. This appeals to people as it is connoting that legends wear Nike and it is almost saying that Nike creates legends because of the quality of their products. The signature pose of Ronaldo about to take a free-kick further shows that it is him. This encourages consumers to buy Nike because if Ronaldo is wearing Nike, they also would want to wear Nike. Also, the tense body language of the men in the wall contrasts to the calm and collected pose of Ronaldo also connotes that Nike gives you power and authority which is a positive idea which will encourage consumers to invest in Nike. The lighting seems and the focus seems to be on Ronaldo which shows that he is the subject matter. This allows the audience to quickly recognise that it is Ronaldo so people would want to check out the new line of apparel or footwear Nike has out. The composition of the photo is interesting because Ronaldo is on one side of the photo and the wall is on the other side. This connotes that Nike sets you out from the crowd. That if your're wearing Nike, you're better and more empowered as in the photo, Ronaldo has one whole side of the photo to himself. The setting of this picture is obviously on a football pitch. This means that this Nike poster is intended for the football players and people who are interested in football attire.
